Job Description

Avante Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator, RN who is responsible to work in conjunction with the DON, Administrator, and the facility QAA/QAPI Committee to assess the training needs of nursing staff and to develop, implement, evaluate and document staff development programs. The Staff Development Coordinator reports the Director of Nursing Services and is educated on HR protocols, the Nurse Practice Act and state and federal requirements. The Staff Educator is responsible for the oversight of onboarding for nursing employees, and assists with the delivery of mandatory education.

This opening is for Mon - Fri, shift 8:30 AM - 5 PM. 

Job Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse in the state or be an LPN in school to become an RN with an expected completion date within one year of assuming the position
  • Must have over two years experience in staff development in the healthcare field or in an alternate role in which staff education was presented, developed, and utilized to reduce risk, promote quality outcomes and employee performance.
  • Maintains confidentiality of necessary information.
  • Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job.
  • Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required, Provides direct care as necessary to manage the needs of the resident population.
  • Must be capable to execute all the terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Interacts in a tactful, diplomatic, and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective caring environment that ensures the self-respect, personal dignity, rights and physical safety of each resident and center guest.
  • Maintains a dependable attendance record; adheres to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
  • Works as a Charge Nurse as required.
