Job Description

Assisted living facility that specializes only with dementia and Alzheimer care. All programs and activities will be catered to the group and individual needs of each and every resident.

Responsible for leading, scheduling, implementing activities in this Specialty Assisted Living Facility.  Activities are the backbone of an ALF which aims to meet the spiritual, social, and physical needs of our residents.  The Activity Director sets the tone of this very special community In addition, responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Completes a thorough Lifestyles Assessment Report by interviewing the resident and his/her family members. Responsible for the scheduling enriching monthly activities three months in advance.  Activities are to reflect the various physical, social and spiritual needs of each resident. Include special events, i.e. holidays, birthdays, anniversaries in the Activities Calendars. Participate in Resident Care Plan and Family Meetings. Responsible for training the health care staff in leading small group and individual activities during all times of the day and night. Arrange and plan outings. Arrange and plan outside entertainers and special therapy programs. Develop specialty groups and committees to welcome new residents, sent get well cards, help decorate the facility, etc. Develop special multimedia programs geared for memory exercises.



This opening is for Mon - Fri and Weekends, shift Varies. 

Job Requirements

A degree in leisure studies, recreational therapy, gerontology, wellness or related field is required plus experience in the senior living or geriatric setting. Must have computer skills with Word and Outlook. CPR Certification Valid Florida Drivers License Fluent in English •Excellent organizational and communication skills Supervisory oversight of caregivers
